When I am fortunate enough to visit Santa Teresa I try to start each day with a long walk on the beach. Since my first visit, a favorite destination has been a place called suck rock, just pastthe jetty at Rocamar, one of my favorite beachfront resting spots.
Depending on my starting point, the rock is a 2-3 mile walk each way. A perfect amount for a long meditative stroll or a fast-paced clip as the sun rises into the sky. Along the way, I pass other beachgoers walking, running, doing yoga, and heading out to surf. Many mornings I am captivated by the surfers doing their thing, swim, catch, ride, repeat. I often wish I had both the strength and the coordination to try it myself. For now I am content to watch, and to enjoy the peace.
